How to Dry Tofu Fast: 3 Quick Methods

If you need to dry tofu fast, there are a few methods you can use to speed up the process. Here’s how to do it:

Method 1: Microwave Drying

One way to quickly dry tofu is to use the microwave. Simply place the pressed and cut tofu pieces on a microwave-safe plate lined with paper towels. Microwave the tofu on high for 1 to 2 minutes, flipping the pieces halfway through, until the surface is slightly tacky to the touch.

Method 2: Oven Drying

Another way to dry tofu quickly is to use the oven. Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat and place the pressed and cut tofu pieces on the sheet. Bake the tofu in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping the pieces halfway through, until the surface is slightly tacky to the touch.

Method 3: Dehydrator Drying

A dehydrator is a kitchen appliance that can be used to dry food quickly and efficiently. Simply place the pressed and cut tofu pieces in the dehydrator and set it to the desired temperature (usually around 145°F (63°C)). Dehydrate the tofu for 2 to 4 hours, until the surface is slightly tacky to the touch.

By using one of these quick-drying methods, you can have dried tofu ready to use in your recipes in no time. Whether you’re making a stir-fry, a salad, or a soup, dried tofu will add delicious flavor and texture to your dish.
